The Path
The path to sobriety can be challenging, but for those struggling
with the disease of addiction, it is the only sure path to genuine
happiness and well-being.
Addiction takes a tremendous toll on individual lives. Many of our
residents come to us with no jobs, no family support, no insurance
and no savings. They literally have nothing left to lose, except
their lives.
Since opening in 2006, Next Step Recovery has helped more than 230
adult men by providing safe, structured transitional living facilities
and substance abuse recovery programs in three beautiful homes located
in Asheville’s historic Montford neighborhood.
In January 2009, our nonprofit program took its next big step by
launching a capital campaign to purchase the homes we currently lease
and that are being offered for sale.
Over the next 3 to 5 years, we must raise $1 million to ensure we
can continue to meet the needs of the adult males who call Next Step
Recovery their home and their best chance for recovery.

Our Serenity Campaign will culminate with the purchase of our residential
property and the construction of a beautiful Japanese garden that
will celebrate our courageous residents, their sponsors and families,
and the generous donors who have helped make their continued recovery
possible.

We are currently seeking individuals and organizations to sponsor
matched giving challenges. If you would like more information on
how to make your donation go further, please contact Susan
