Transitional Sober Living Asheville NC

The battle against addiction is never simple. Next Step Recovery’s sober living facilities help men win that fight—through structure, community, and self-love.

At Next Step Recovery of Asheville, we offer more than just a “halfway house.” Our sober living houses and sober living programs take a holistic approach to addiction, equipping men with the skills they need to achieve long-term addiction recovery.

Beyond the 30, 60, 90 Program & On To Sustainable Addiction Recovery

Addiction recovery is possible with the right addiction treatment program and sober living program. But it takes time. Next Step Recovery of Asheville bridges the gap between inpatient detox and long-term self-sufficiency, by helping those who recently completed residential treatment stay sober, form connection and accountability, and access new hope and relationships. We work hard to ease the transition from early recovery to a long-term sober lifestyle.

The trail up the mountain from addict to contributing member of society is full of thorns and pitfalls. Yours may even have creatures of self-contempt laying in wait for you along the way. You’ll have to fight through it to become alcohol and drug-free.

While we can’t do the climb for you, we can help light the way towards ongoing sobriety. You can learn how to achieve sober living in our sober living houses. We elevate the traditional halfway house model to give you a sober living home with the highest level of resources.

Real Sober Living Spaces for Real Recovery

Is Sober Living Right For Me?

Each patient must determine whether they feel like they would benefit from a sober living home as they either partake in a drug alcohol or alcohol addiction recovery program. Sober living homes can be a strong transition before outpatient treatment while residents learn how to achieve long term sobriety on their own. Through sober living programs, clients are taught the importance of ensuring independence and freedom.

Our recovery residences hold a monthly house meeting with residents and the house managers in which we speak with members of the organization about the goals they have in life and the house rules. Our primary focus is separating the user from their previous substance-abusing environment so they can recover in a sober, supportive environment. Living a life free of drug and alcohol addiction is attainable for each of our residents.

Susan Stader is the founder and director of the sober living program Next Step Recovery and Next Step Recovery of Asheville, an Intensive Outpatient Program and a Long-term Extended Care program in Asheville, NC.

She received her Master’s in Community Counseling in 2004 at Western Carolina University and went on to get her licensure in addictions and mental health counseling. Susan believes treatment should be gender-specific and offered in a small setting to make a drug-free environment. Small recovery communities like hers are more intimate and effective in client satisfaction and care; thus, the result is sober living.
